Scott Lang

Having a master’s degree in electrical engineering, Scott Lang often used his abilities to steal from criminals and give back to their victims. While working at Vistacorp, Lang learned that the company had been secretly stealing millions of dollars from their customers. Upon learning of this, Lang altered the company’s code to fix the overcharging of customers, however, when his boss learned of this, he forced Lang to revert the changes and fired him. Angered by the whole situation, Lang broke into Vistacorp headquarters and hacked their system, returning all the stolen money back to the customers. Lang then broke into his boss’s mansion and stole a few items and crashed his car into a swimming pool, leading to his arrest and a three-year sentence in prison.

Upon his release from jail, Lang swore to give up the life of crime however when told he needed to come up with two years of child support to be able to see his daughter Cassie, he became desperate. His old cellmate Luis had told him about a potential heist on a billionaire and Lang reluctantly accepted. After successfully breaking into the billionaire’s technologically advanced vault, Lang was upset to find that there was only what appeared to be a biker’s suit inside and no money, however, he stole the suit anyway. While back at his hotel he decided to try on the suit and to his astonishment he shrunk down to the size of an ant. After a series of near death experiences Lang figured out how to grow back to his normal size and decided that he wanted nothing to do with the suit and went to return it to the billionaire’s house.

After successfully returning the suit he was apprehended by the police for breaking and entering and was brought to jail. While in jail Lang was visited by Hank Pym who turned out to be the billionaire Lang had stolen from and the one who orchestrated the whole heist. Pym told Lang that not only would he help him get out of jail, but he would also help him see his daughter Cassie, if he helped Pym as “Ant-Man”. While controlling a group of ants, Pym was able to sneak the suit into Lang’s jail cell allowing him to escape and solidifying his place as Ant-Man.

Upon returning to the Pym residence, Lang learned that Hank wanted him to steal the Yellowjacket suit from his protege Darren Cross, in exchange for paying Lang’s child support fees. Over the next few days, Lang practiced using the suit’s shrinking capabilities, martial arts and the ability to control ants.

YellowJacket Darren Cross as The Yellowjacket

When the day of the heist finally came, Lang was able to successfully infiltrate the facility with the help from his team and fellow ants. When he finally approached the Yellowjacket suit, he was met by Darren Cross who took the suit with him and tried to escape by helicopter. Lang Managed to catch up to Cross and the two fought violently in the helicopter which eventually crashes when the pilots are shot by the Yellowjacket’s energy weapons, forcing the two to fight in a backyard. The fight was momentarily halted when Lang hit Cross into a bug zapper. The victory was short-lived however when Lang gets tazed by the police and is placed in a cop car. The dispatch then sends an alert that there is now a hostage situation at Lang’s daughters house which turns out to be Cross. After an intense battle Lang comes to the realization that he needs to enter the Quantum Realm to be able to disable the Yellowjacket suit. Not only does Lang manage to defeat Cross but he also manages to escape the Quantum Realm.
