Ant-Man’s Villains

Since June, 2015, the cat-burglar Scott Lang has stepped up to protect the world from threats as Ant-Man. In celebration for Marvel Studios’ upcoming film “Ant-Man and The Wasp“, along with our tee for June inspired by the film, the team behind Arctify compiled a short list of Ant-Man’s villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Darren Cross (Yellowjacket)

Darren Cross – once the hopeful protege of Hank Pym – was brilliant. He graduated from MIT as valedictorian at the age of 20 and was hired directly as Pym’s assistant. Despite his success as an intellectual and high potential, he became increasingly interested in rumors of the Pym Particle. Even with Pym’s attempts at convincing Cross that the rumors were false, He went on to research the Particle and sought ways to recreate his own Pym Particle.

Over the years Cross slowly pushed Pym out of the company and changed the name from Pym Technologies to Cross Technologies and became a rival to Stark Industries. Cross continued to research the science behind the Pym Particle and eventually his dedication paid off. Cross managed to recreate the Pym Particle along with his own weaponized version of the Ant-Man suit – The Yellowjacket – which he intended to sell to the military. Shortly after the development of the Yellowjacket, Cross was approached by Mitchell Carson – an old enemy of Pym – who offered him a business proposition from HYDRA. Being blinded by his greed, Cross agreed to sell the Yellowjacket technology to Hydra for a mere 20% of his asking price for payment in cash.

While Pym knew the Yellowjacket technology in the hands of Darren Cross would be detrimental to humanity, he enlisted the help of Scott Land who would take on the role of Ant-Man to stop him.

Ghost

According to Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man and The Wasp” trailers, one of the main enemies in the new film is ‘Ghost’. Little is known of Ghost’s overall role in the film however she is strong, has the ability to phase through walls and is after Dr. Pym’s technology.
