Hello Arctifans and welcome to another exclusive look inside our creative process. As you are reading this, you should have received our latest Marvel Knights inspired tee that shipped for March.

Marvel Knights

The theme we went with for this month was Marvel Knights. As we had mentioned in our earlier post Marvel Knights are a group of urban vigilantes called to action by Daredevil. The team lineup shifted, but often consisted of Daredevil himself, Black Widow, Dagger, Punisher, Shang-Chi, Luke Cage, and Moon Knight. With its coverage of the darker corners of the Marvel Universe, Marvel Knights became an instant classic.

The Shirt

The shirt we used for this month is a cotton-poly blend providing maximum comfort and durability. Pure cotton shirts are great because they make for a light tee that is pleasant to wear throughout the day; the main drawback for a cotton tee is it is prone to shrinkage and wrinkles unless cared for. Polyester, on the other hand, is heavier and less susceptible to wrinkles and shrinkage. Using a blend of the two, however, provides a happy medium where you can get the best of both worlds!

The Design

One of the many interesting things about the Marvel Knights is that the group’s sense of individuality. The team is comprised of vigilantes who often take justice into their own hands then come together to take on common enemies.

One of our main objectives while creating the design was to preserve the group members’ individual identities. We did this by separating the characters on different layers and symbolically placing them behind the city they protect. Being that Jessica Jones season 2 recently released, we wanted to use her as a prominent figure in the graphic. We decided to add a contrast of color to Jessica Jones (her iconic shade of purple) to help her stand out a bit as well. In addition to the design on the front, we also added a bold Marvel Knights graphic on the back of the tee.

As you may have noticed, the Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War inspired theme for the April tee has been added to our site!
